Sunset Peak via Catherine’s Pass Trail is a lovely moderate 5.5-mile hike near Alta. There are definitely some steep sections (you’re hiking a peak lol). There are lovely views & the wildflowers are still beautiful! We have seen moose here before, but no luck this time. We did see a deer on the way up to the parking lot. It was super windy when we were out early morning. A couple of water crossings, and overall a lovely hike & good workout. You will have to pay $10 to park at the Catherine’s Pass trailhead, which has limited spots.
