4th Annual Utah Valley Growth & Prosperity Summit at UVU

Chris & I attended the 4th Annual Utah Valley Growth & Prosperity Summit at UVU the beginning of November. We heard from several keynote speakers and sessions addressing Utah County’s biggest challenges and opportunities. Topics included: business, workforce, transportation & infrastructure, water, housing, healthcare, natural resources, and education.

🎤 Speakers included: Governor Spencer Cox, UVU President Astrid Tuminez, Senator Mike Lee, former Governor Gary Herbert, Former US Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton & more.

🏢 We learned more about the Point Development, which is planned to have about 10K housing units across its 600 acres. It will include homes for sale & for rent.

🏡 Housing availability & affordability is a huge problem for our area. Work is being done to help alleviate this. Weber County has just broken ground for 275 new single family starter homes in Plain City. It is first come, first serve for first-time homebuyers, active military members, veterans, teachers and first responders. And under $400,000! It would be awesome if something similar could happen in Utah County.

🏅 Utah also has the privilege of being the host of the Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games 2034. This will be a great opportunity for local small businesses & entrepreneurs to attract more clients & profits. Utah will be in the spotlight & welcome new visitors.

🌄 Utah continues to be a desirable place to live & we will continue to grow. So we need to do it in a smart & thoughtful way.

❤️ It was a really fun & informative day!

We have a lot of wonderful people & organizations in our community & are blessed to work & live in Utah.
