Red Pine Lake up Little Cottonwood Canyon is a beautiful, popular trail. It is one of my favorite hikes. We saw marmots, deer, pikas, squirrels, chipmunks, potguts & butterflies.
There were a lot of wildflowers in bloom, too. It is definitely hard. There are very steep areas to get through.
We tracked this at 10 miles, but we also went all around the lake and explored on the rocks. I think AllTrails says it is about 8, but we have never found that to be very accurate either.
