The Timpooneke Chris Flat is a nice trail up American Fork Canyon. We only saw one other person, it was very calm & quiet. There are some steep areas, but nothing too wild. Beautiful views all along the way. We saw tons of woodpeckers, which was fun. We went about 4 miles total, it is much longer & you can hook onto other trails easily too. I believe the Alpine Loop closes November 3rd, so you would have to hike up the road to access this trail after that.
