Culinary Vs. Secondary Water

One thing to notice when buying a home, is if the outside water is culinary or secondary water. What is the difference?

First let’s define each!

Culinary water: Drinking water- of sufficient quality for human consumption. Also referred to as Potable Water. I.E. what comes out of your kitchen faucet 🙂

Secondary Water:  untreated water supply for use on landscape only. It is non-potable & should NOT be drank

If you have connection to secondary water, you will be able to use it for your sprinkling system & yard, which can save you money, since culinary water is more expensive. You will however want to make sure no kiddos or pets are drinking that water.

Now you know! Definitely more to research, but that is the basics of it!
