🏡 Story of our first home:
We bought our first home in 2008! A cute but outdated rambler in Southeast Provo. It definitely needed/still needs some updates, but we loved the yard for our dogs. Neither of us were licensed when we bought it, there are multiple things I wish we had known, that I am going to share:
-we were told it had a basement apartment that was OK- i wish we had been guided to check into this further- it was not legal
-it had an apple orchard behind it that we were told would always be there- now there is a road, that orchard is gone 🤣
But, overall it was a great buy ($180k with all of our closing costs covered) & we still own it as a rental today! Your first home will probably NOT be your dream or forever home, but making the leap helped us get to where we are today!! No regrets 😊
Especially as pet owners, renting is so difficult & pricey when you have pets 🐕😺
