Lake Salamander is in SLC/Lambs Canyon area. We parked near the public restrooms & hiked up the road to the trailhead with no issues. We did this trail in September 2022 and there were still wildflowers. We saw 4 deer including some babies, so cute! It was very secluded, just us on the trail, a lovely spot. At just about 4 miles total it is pretty easy, there were some steep sections, but nothing crazy.
