Hiked around Silver Lake & then to Dog Lake & Lake Mary. There is construction around Silver Lake, so we detoured. I wanted to add Twin Lakes on, but the mosquitoes were incredibly bad this morning. It was neat anyway. We saw 2 moose, a bald eagle, beavers, potguts & chipmunks around Silver Lake. The moose ended up running around & getting way too close to us for comfort, but all good, ha! Anyway, I think it was about 3.5 miles or so. There are tons of trails & lakes in the area you can loop onto. Very pretty, be sure to bring bug spray. I’d rate them as moderate, some steep areas, but not crazy. There are some water crossings, so waterproof boots are helpful. You can easily loop in more lakes or make it longer.
