Affordable Housing Summit

I (Sheralyn) attended the Affordable Housing Summit which was held at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church & Sponsored by the City of Orem & McCandless Family. It was a great panel gathered to discuss the housing affordability challenges we are having & what resources are available.

The federal definition of “affordable housing” is no more than 30% of your income, which I would say is near to impossible to find for most people. This is a very complex issue, but hopefully by starting the discussion, we can all collaborate & help to find solutions. There are so many variables- construction costs, city zoning & push back from communities on what they want to see happen. Very interesting info & I am glad I had time to go!!
