We get asked often what our favorite hike is. There are SO many absolutely beautiful spots in Utah, but we both agree that Red Pine Lake is a lovely trail. It reminds me of the movie Ferngully (which Chris has not seen, can you believe it??).
I love going in July/August when the wildflowers are out. It has water along the trail, we often see deer, etc.
If you want to go harder & further you can go to Upper Red Pine, we have done that & it was definitely a butt kicker. I think we got a little off trail though haha. It is up Little Cottonwood Canyon. If you just go to the main Red Pine Lake, you are looking at about 7.5 miles round trip, if you go further to Upper Red Pine it adds about another mile in total & is very steep. I would say both are hard, steeper elevations, but so beautiful.
Anyway, these photos are from July 2021, not recent obviously. Definitely one I recommend putting on your list if you have not done it yet!
