Desolation Lake is a beautiful trail up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It is moderate, there are some steep areas but not too bad. There are still some wildflowers hanging on. We saw a mama moose, baby moose and lots of deer, and 2 more moose when we drove up and down the canyon. It started to get pretty hot after noon as we finished, so we were glad to have started early morning. There are lovely views all along the way. It was pretty peaceful and we only passed a few others and had the lake to ourselves.
We tracked this at just about 9 miles total.
